Citizenship

If you do not hold citizenship in the Republic of Slovenia but would like to acquire it, you can obtain it through the so-called ordinary naturalisation procedure.

Apply for Slovenian citizenship at any administrative unit. You must also pay an administrative fee for the citizenship procedure.

One of the ways of acquiring Slovenian citizenship is naturalisation on the basis of a special legal provision that allows you to acquire citizenship if there is a state interest in a particular area of social life (sport, culture, science) – the so-called extraordinary naturalisation.
